One of the highlights of the superyacht industry social calendar, the countdown is on for The Pinmar Golf 2017 coming up on 19 to 21 October. To date, the tournament has raised almost 850,000 euros for charity and paint company Jotun has been a keen Condor Sponsor for a number of years. For this 29th edition they will be lending their name to a new addition to the programme, the Jotun ‘Recovery’ Brunch at El Náutico (Real Club Náutico Palma), on Saturday morning.
“The Pinmar Golf is undoubtedly a pinnacle in the superyacht event calendar,” says Marcus Reynolds, Global Marketing Manager ‘Yachting’ for Jotun. “For us it is a great way to meet and greet industry stakeholders and partners in a relaxed environment, while enjoying some great golf. It is an incredible event which captivates all who attend - top golf and entertainment in a great location.”
After Thursday and Friday’s golfing action at the championship course of Golf Son Gual, the entertainment kicks off with the traditional Friday Night VIP Party held at Social Club on Palma’s Paseo Marítimo. One suspects that Saturday morning’s Jotun ‘Recovery’ Brunch will be most welcome.
Marcus continues, “As part of a fresh approach to The Pinmar Golf events format, we decided to be rather innovative and creative in our chosen activity. We saw an opportunity in the weekend schedule and felt that enjoying a delicious brunch surrounded by great people in a relaxed, informal, nautical environment would be a satisfying way to spend a Saturday morning. On the guest list will be captains, officers and industry stakeholders, alongside our dear partners at GYG plc.”
Jotun pledges its support to a number of major global industry events, but always considers The Pinmar Golf to be one of the most special. “The Pinmar Golf event is a worthwhile charity platform with an international showcase, it really is important to the Jotun event calendar,” adds Marcus. “This event is one of a few that aligns clearly with Jotun’s four core values – respect, care, loyalty and boldness.”
“Palma, and indeed Mallorca as an Island, has developed and defined itself over the years as a major yachting hub and refit landmark. The Pinmar Golf is a clear and prominent example of the Island’s status within the superyacht industry.”
With pro golfer and 1999 Open champion Paul Lawrie OBE on board as ‘golf ambassador’ and TV presenter and Sky Sports News anchor Kirsty Gallacher as compère, 2017 is set to be more glamorous and high profile than ever. Tickets are selling fast. International show director Martyn Smith will debut a sensational theatrical performance at the Saturday night Prize-giving and Gala Dinner, while Faithless’ Sister Bliss will be on the decks for the After Party. This year’s finale returns to a black tie dress code and the 16th century estate of Son Amar will provide a dramatic backdrop.
Tickets – both entertainment and golf packages – and team entry are available at www.pinmargolf.es
